Survival Scars new look

If you've been following up on Survival Scars, you would have noticed that the cover page has been reviewed.

Why?

It was a difficult decision to make. It really boiled down to what part of the book we wanted to sell... The Survival? Or The Scars

The novel describes the journey of a young lady called Anna who goes through a series of trying events, till she reaches a breaking point. At this stage she decides to start making better decisions that ordinarily go beyond her comfort zone, all in a bid to survive.

Survival Scars is a celebration of finding oneself despite the hardships and curve balls life can offer. It is about accepting all experiences, both the good and the bad, and using these as life lessons, molding one into a refined, more unique self!

This is why the cover page got changed. We can argue that most of the novel talks about the hardships in Anna's life and as such, the cover page should depict this aspect. However; I'm an optimist despite it all, and believe that since the moral of the story is about finding ones self and overcoming, then the cover page needs to showcase this.

Let's break the cover page down a little:

The lady is wearing red. This is both the colour for danger as well as the colour for love. Anna did go through hurdles and that's why the lady on the cover page has the scars to show for it. The lady also seems to be falling a little. All these are signs of the hardship Anna faced. However, the fact that despite all these, she dares to wear a pair of red heels and a red dress, shows that she's confident enough to keep going on in spite of her challenges. She refuses to give in.. Even if she's falling... Even if she's scared... She has enough "self love" to forge ahead stronger.

Putting her mantra "I must not snap" on the front cover gives the reader an immediate sense of caution and seriousness that this book deserves. It brings the reader back to the heart of the story. These words give courage at the same time gives the reader just enough curiosity to want to find out just what is it that might make her snap!

The font is big and bold, but on a closer look, you will see the font has scratches just like the main character at the end in the novel.

Hope this explains it all now?! We have had suggestions asking we use real human lady legs all dressed in red. We love all your inputs and ideas. Let us know what to think about the new cover page or any suggestions you may have.

Happy Reading to you!!
